Your Guide to Choosing a Gazebo

Your Guide to
Choosing a Gazebo

6 Easy Steps for Buying a Gazebo

The history of the gazebo goes back more than 5,000 years to ancient Egypt, but its purpose has never changed—a peaceful place to relax and unwind. Today, you can transform your gazebo into a true outdoor oasis with comfortable furniture and modern gas fire pits. Here in Minnesota, we know a gazebo must stand up to our unique climate—heavy snow, strong winds, and mosquitoes. That’s why our gazebos are built for lasting quality and comfort. We use heavy-duty rafters, 2″ x 6″ roof and floor joists, and warp-resistant 4″ x 4″ posts for unmatched strength and stability. To keep those summer evenings mosquito-free, our gazebos feature screened floors and window screens that let the breeze in while keeping bugs out. Stop by and explore our gazebo display to experience the craftsmanship and quality firsthand.

Step 1

Choose Your Shape

Gazebos come in three popular shapes: octagon, rectangle, and oval.
Your choice depends on how you plan to use your space.
For example, if you want to fit an outdoor sofa, loveseat, club chairs, and a gas fire pit, an oval shape offers the best layout and flow.

Step 2

Pick Your Size

We offer a wide range of sizes to fit any space or purpose.

  • Octagon gazebos: from 8′ x 8′ to 20′ x 20′ (most common: 12′ x 12′)

  • Ovals and rectangles: from 10′ x 10′ up to 12′ x 24′
    Popular choices include 10′ x 12′, 12′ x 14′, and 12′ x 16′—perfect for entertaining or relaxing.

Step 3

Open, Screened, or Screened with Windows

Here’s where the fun begins!
You can choose from three main styles:

  • Open: classic and airy

  • Screened: keeps mosquitoes out while enjoying the fresh air

  • Screened with Windows: adds protection from wind and rain for an extended outdoor season

Screened gazebos have a nostalgic charm, while windowed designs—with glass or vinyl 4-track window systems—create an “outdoor room” perfect for deep seating and gas fire tables.

Step 4

Select Your Material

Our gazebos are built from #1 grade, 40-year-tested pressure-treated wood, available pre-stained or ready to stain on-site.
For a maintenance-free option, choose a vinyl-wrapped gazebo in clay or white.
Flooring options include wood or AZEK composite decking for durability and easy care.

Step 5

Prepare the Ground

Most gazebos arrive fully assembled. Thanks to pressure-treated floor joists, they can rest directly on the ground and be leveled with blocks.
For best results, we recommend a 4–5″ crushed stone base for even support, great drainage, and a clean, finished look.

Step 6

Delivery Made Simple

Wherever you want your gazebo—backyard, garden, or lakeside—we make delivery easy.
We can transport it fully assembled using our non-aggressive mover or assemble it on-site if access is limited.
