Plants and Things USA

Plants and Things, established in 1979 by Larry and Frosty Hickman, has its roots in being a small, local produce stand on the corner of Highway 10 and Sunfish Lake Blvd in Anoka, MN. What was once a place to buy produce quickly grew into a flower and gift shop. As the once small family business grew, so did the merchandise they carried. Now the store has become a one stop shop to create your perfect private paradise. From sheds, and gazebos to being one of the largest sellers of poly lumber furniture in the country, Plants and Things really does have it all.

The store first opened as a small, little produce stand on a vacant farm lot along the highway. It sold locally grown fruits, vegetables, and flowers during the spring and summer months, pumpkins and squashes in the fall, and even Christmas trees in the winter.

After a successful first year in business, Plants and Things expanded into the old farmhouse on the lot. The house, built in 1856, soon transformed into the gift shop, where they started selling antique furniture and accessories out of. As the business continued to grow, so did the merchandise carried, and from there they expanded even more and added on the oak furniture showroom.

The store has grown into a 12 acre showroom experience. We now carry sheds and gazebos built and designed with high quality made in America craftsmanship. A large selection of poly lumber dining sets, adirondacks, and deep seating furniture. And, of course, we still have the large selection of birdbaths, statues, and pottery that we are known for.

If you want old fashioned customer service and the world’s best selection of outdoor furniture, please stop by our store or visit us again on the web. It will truly be one of the most unique outdoor shopping experiences.
