6 Steps to Gazebo Selection

The history of the Gazebo is long and dates back more than 5,000 years ago to the early Egyptian times, but the use of a Gazebo has never changed.  A gazebo has always been a great retreat to relax and now with all the fabulous different furniture and gas fire pits options you can create an oasis.  We live in Minnesota so we need certain quality features for the elements of heavy snow, thunderstorms with high winds and mosquitoes.  We solved it.  All gazebos in Minnesota should be built with quality construction in mind and that is why we use heavy duty rafters, 2′ x 6′ roof and floor joists and warp resistant 4′ x 4′ posts.  Mosquitoes sometimes can disrupt your evening plans so our gazebos have screened in floors and window screens.  Please stop by and check out our gazebo display and see quality first hand.  Here are 5 easy steps when purchasing a gazebo.

STEP 1
Shape.  Gazebos come in many different shapes and the shape that you choose has a lot to do on what you want to use it for.  The 3 basic shapes are octagon, rectangle or oval.  Example, if you want to put a outdoor sofa, love seat and club chairs with a gas fire pit, then an oval would be the best shape.
STEP 2
Size.  Octagon gazebos can come 8′ x 8′ all the way up to 20′ x 20′ but 12′ x 12′ is the most common.  Ovals and rectangles start at 10′ x 10′ up to 12′ x 24′.  Some of the most common sizes are 10′ x 12′, 12′ x 14′ and 12′ x 16′.

STEP 3
Open, screens or screens with windows?  This is the fun part when deciding on a gazebo.  Do I want the gazebo to be fully open or with screens to keep the mosquitoes at bay or screens/windows to keep the outdoor elements out.   Each feature gives the gazebo a different look and feel.  The gazebo just with screens is a popular option because when screen in the floors, door and side panels but this will still give the gazebo a nostalgic look and keeps the bugs out.  The window option is really popular as well.  We can make the gazebo with glass windows or with a vinyl 4- track windows system for that open experience.  Windows are popular because people are looking to create an outdoor room with deep seating groups and gas fire tables.

STEP 4
Material.  The gazebos are made out of 40-year tested number #1 grade pressure treated wood that can come pre-stained or be stained on site.  These wood gazebos are beautiful.  All gazebos we sell can be wrapped with clay or white vinyl for a maintenance free option.  Floors are available in wood or AZEK maintenance free flooring.

STEP 5
Ground prep.  Most of our gazebos we deliver fully assembled and since we have pressure treated floor joists they can make wood to earth contact and be leveled with shim blocks or we can lay down about 4-5” of crushed stone.  This works great for drainage, even support and cleanliness.

STEP 6
Delivery.  No matter where you want it, we can help.  We can deliver a gazebo fully assembled with our non- aggressive gazebo mover or assemble the gazebo on site.
